The property was well located. They facilitated a free of charge early check in (around 8am) which was a godsend after our 16 hour flight from Australia. We enjoyed the S’mores night and could have happily spent more time around the facilities.

We found the location very central to all places heading out for Day trips as well as inside SF. It was next door to Union Square and walking distance to the Tram station. We walked to various Breakfast places nearby. It was a very short drive to the main highway of the Premium Outlet Mall at Livermore. Their restaurant seemed a little dull for dinner. The flatbread was amazing but we wanted to see people we stepped out a lot for meals

Stayed for one night in San Francisco downtown. We walked down a few streets and were shocked by the number of homeless people on the ground. Luckily right around the hotel there wasn't many.

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded on 3 sides by water, it is spread over steep hills that make for great photo opportunities. None better than the zig-zag Lombard Street seen in many a film. Other movie stars are the streetcars plying the hill climbs – a little touristy, but still worth trying.
In the middle of the bay is Alcatraz island, famed for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t fancy going inside, the views towards the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere in San Francisco is life more laidback than on the Pacific beaches. Hire a bike and head out there via the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The clam chowder served in (yes, actually in!) bread is a delight. Chinatown also has a great selection of good value restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want to stay in apartments along those lines, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something to suit. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here.
San Francisco isn't a real place with real people.
San Francisco isn't a real place with real people. It is there to run game on the working class and scam people out of their youth. It is the most expensive city on earth. At any given moment residents are outnumbered by tourists and homeless. Don't be a sucker.

All big cities have a downside and that doesn’t exclude SF.
All big cities have a downside and that doesn’t exclude SF. Yes, there are some areas that are exacerbated by homelessness and decline of business. However, that isn’t the whole story. The city still has vibrant neighborhoods, incredible sights, and extraordinary dining options you’d be hard to find elsewhere. Make sure you go beyond the Pier 39 area or Golden Gate Bridge; yes quintessential. Some other great highlights include a day trip to Angel Island, an outing to Crissy Field or Baker Beach or in the presidio area in general, visiting the Lincoln Park neighborhood with the Legion of Honor and surrounding trails and cliff views, Golden Gate Park with the Japanese tea garden, the botanical gardens, and the several museums like de Yound and California Academy of Sciences, the food in the mission neighborhood alone could be a day….the options are endless and that’s just SF. Plenty of surrounding suggestions like Muir Woods, Sausalito, Oakland, Berkeley, Napa and Sonoma, Monterey Bay, Point Reyes, Santa Cruz to name a few.

I only had two nights and one full day. I love walking.
I only had two nights and one full day. I love walking. I walked 30km all around SF. Golden gate. Ocean beach. The city. Everything. Also used public transport to and from airport.
For me it is all about the beauty of the The Bay and the buildings architecture and general scenery.
Only downsides - Chinatown was crap - nothing like the real thing - full of crap tourist gifts - very few restaurants and very few Chinese people. Fisherman’s wharf is a bit overrated too. But it’s ok for a quick walk to get the feel of it all. Only other downside is some of the less safe areas in the downtown area.

Since the homeless were hustled out of the City to make it...
Since the homeless were hustled out of the City to make it look good for the Chinese visitors a while ago, it's not as bad as it was but still not great. However, there are still many car break-ins happening and are warned by the hotels to not leave anything in your car. The DeYoung Museum, The Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Park, Japantown, China Town, The Momo and the wharfs are all favorite places to visit. Getting around is very slow due to traffic and parking is expensive. When you leave the City, do not attempt it past 2:30PM as traffic is barely creeping. I suggest taking Lift or Uber around the City during your stay, they are everywhere and inexpensive. We always eat in Japantown, restaurants in the Filmore District, and just outside of Golden Gate Park. Enjoy the City as there is a lot to experience.
The hotel is located in the beautiful Nob Hill area close to the downtown and North Beach. The room and washroom were expecially clean, had all necessary facilities which I needed at my stay. Both the room and the hotel have classic and old European luxurious style. I liked it very much!
Although I did not visited a dining area or a bar (wanted to try different tastes of food in the city), I believe the meals are fantastic! If I come back to San Francisco, absolutely, I will stay at this hotel again!
We stayed for 3 nights and the bed was probably the most comfortable, softest bed I have ever slept in - amazing! Our room was at the front of the hotel so I feared street noise, but actually it was so quiet considering the location in a city. It was nice waking up to hear the bell of the trolley cars going by the end of the road. The location is perfect for walking around the Union Square area and in close proximity are many options for food and drink. The hotel also smelled fresh and clean.
Located in the heart of San Francisco adjacent to Union Square, very close to cable car and tram services. Lovely hotel with extremely accommodating staff. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at about 10am and were able to check-in to our room, even though stated check-in time was not until 3pm. A great stay. Although we didn't use it (it was a little cool when we were in San Fran) the pool area looked lovely with plenty of lounges and a sparkling clean pool.
The location of this property was ideal for exploring Union Square and China Town area. Plus easy reach to transport, in fact the trolley was only steps away. High on my priority list for a holiday is a comfy bed and this was the best. The staff are friendly (even gave my daughter chocolates for her birthday). We found the tea/coffee and breakfast pastries a real bonus. Would absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay again.
The location was really excellent. It was right at the heart of San Francisco's downtown area. The hotel was literally just a few steps away from the historic cable car station, the Union Square as well as those well renowned American shopping malls (Macy's, Westfield, Bloomingdales & Target). The room was big enough and was really clean. I don't need airconditioning for I was there during the cold spring season.
There is nothing good to say about the hotel, the rooms are tired and worn, the restaurant for breakfast was dreadful, the location is “crime central” the location is no fault of the hotel but if your staying in Union Square at any hotel you are just a few metres from Tenderloin, if you don’t know this area it’s city centre drug crime and homeless area a total disgrace to America.
Wow factor room with luxury finishes and furniture. Amazing views from every corner.
Open concept bathroom with freestanding tub overlooking the San Francisco skyline.
Security guards 24/7
Outstanding Housekeeping service.
Best coffee station I've seen in a hotel room.
Upscale Rooftop bar with amazing views of the Downtown.
Walking distance from Union Square.
First of all, great location, union square is central and safe! The hotel was very nicely furnished and the room was clean, spacious and it even came with a fireplace that you can simply flip a switch to turn it on and off! Also with the compliment breakfast and wine/snack time in the afternoon, it is overall great value for a short stay in San Francisco.
The hotel is guarded with security guards at the lobby which is safer at night. Reception at 3rd floor with the restaurant and waiting area full with funky and colorful decoration on wall which made it vibrant. Room is clean, comfortable, great view. Location is strategic which is next to union square, BART station and other public transport.
The location was everything. Located in downtown, close by to the mall, movies, restaurants, and union square. The beds were extremely comfy and the room was very spacious. Room comes with an empty refrigerator which is great, unlike other hotels in SF that have items inside for you to purchase, which leaves no space to put items.
A timelessly elegant and beautiful hotel in the heart of Union Square. The amazingly comfortable beds and bedding were a respite after long days walking around San Francisco. All the staff went the extra step to provide extraordinary customer service. We will definitely return to Beacon Grand on our next trip to The Bay Area!
The room was extremely comfortable, and the staff was helpful and considerate. The happy hour wine and cheese was an extra touch that made us feel really welcomed. Both in Petite Auberge and its sister hotel have really nice common lounge areas. It is extremely well-located if you need to be around Union Square.
This place has a very cozy vibe especially considering the area that attend is not that great. But they can't change that. they can control what they have inside, and they do a great job Every time I'm here. As far as best Bang for your buck when it comes To hotel rooms in San Francisco. This is it definitely
Free quick breakfast and coffee to go. Location is great for the fact Union Square is near by and so many other spots near by the downtown area. Cozy, clean and safe Hostel. I would highly recommend as a traveler for business as myself or leisure. A great way to meet so many people from around the world.
The hotel also hosts the San Francisco Playhouse. Currently they’re showing a chorus line, which we went and saw. But they have shows throughout the year in the theater is an excellent place to visit if you’re staying near Union Square.
Location Location Location. MUNIMOBILE could be helpfull. Cable car stop just around the corner. All day pass 13$. Two routes from downtown near Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf (HOTEL CAZA) , and a third route along California Street.
Perfect location for seeing San Francisco. Walking distance to China Town and Union Square, and lots more. Trolley car passed right next to the hotel. Staff was awesome and room was spacious and very comfortable.
Value for money. The best hotel at the best location! Exactly at union square and everything is in 20-30 minutes walk. Large room, comfortable beds, the staff was cleaning everyday! Totally recommend
Very nice hotel located in nice area of San Francisco. Easy connection to the downtown by bus that stops around the corner. A lot of restaurants around. Big rooms with very comfortable beds.
